Keeping it Local.

We live in the Lockyer Valley – Australia’s Salad Bowl.  The Lockyer Valley has some of the most fertile soil in the world. Each year, more than 110,00 tonnes of the fresh, delicious vegetables are harvested and shipped to supermarkets all over Australia. However many tonnes of produce are rejected because it isn’t the “perfect” size or shape even though they taste just as good.  Lucky locals like us can pop over to the Forest Hill Farm Stall (GPS Co-ordinates 27 35 148 S / 152 21 716 E) and get fabulous produce at fabulous prices. We can take a country drive to other farms or attend the Mulgowie Farmers Market.

As we buy fresh and local, we have low food miles  and we are happy to make our little contribution to reduce global warming.

Here is a list of our featured fruit and veg:

Beetroot, capsicum, cucumber,  celery, cumquats, eggplant, figs, ginger, lemons. limes, mulberries, onions, persimmons, pumpkins, strawberries, tomatoes.

We buy direct from UB’s Farm Helidon, the Forest Hill Strawberry Farm and Black Boy Ridge Gatton.
